This new product has been created with the goal of developing the best combination of performance and looks: the beauty of the carbon fiber and the hygiene of the ceramic. Never before has it been recognized the effect that realistic carbon fiber can have on sanitary-ware.

“We see a growing interest on the X-light and X- Light S toilets, our macerator toilets made of full carbon. There is a global trend where carbon fibre is appealing to the high-quality and luxury sector. Nevertheless, full carbon products are not always within the scope of a yacht. Therefore we have been looking for an interesting compromise, to see how we could combine ceramic with carbon fibre”, says Gianluca Silvestri, Business Unit Manager of Thetford Marine.

New production process
The special material combination can be achieved by applying a custom carbon film onto the ceramic toilet, which is then treated with a special heat program in the oven. The right temperature and the full firing cycle, and with some fine tuning during our extensive testing delivers the desired effect. The result is a stylish and efficient ceramic toilet with a unique carbon look. The surface of the X-Compass is anti-scratch and resistant to any detergent.

The original ceramic design
Last year we introduced the Compass toilet to provide boaters and manufacturers with the “most toilet” in the smallest installation area. A ceramic design that is used as a foundation for the X-Compass. The narrow footprint and smart-back of the X-Compass toilet gives maximum space and maximum flexibility, wherever it is installed on board. A unique and versatile solution for boats ranging from 30’-50’ in length.

X-Compass can go straight to the wall or even further towards the hull, thanks to the cut design of ceramic in the back area of the bowl. Not limited by a vertical back step, its visual installation remains perfect – no matter what installation space the installer has.
The X-Compass has a narrow thermosetting seat and cover, featuring a soft-close motion that also increases the luxurious feeling on board small- to medium-sized boats.

We proudly introduce the “most toilet” in the smallest installation area with a unique combination of ceramic and carbon.
