Thetford Marine improves Tecma macerator toilet system with new components

A new Solenoid valve and Double Duckbill Valve is introduced. The Tecma technical component improvements lead to faster and easier installation and maintenance of the Tecma macerator toilet system.

Small better performing Solenoid

The new Solenoid is smaller in size and better performing with system pressure conditions deviating from specifications. The advantages for installation are diverse. Thanks to the new solenoid there is no longer a need for the additional installation of pressure regulators and shocks absorbers. It’s now all under control by this single ultra-performing solenoid. Next to that, in this new installation composition and the smaller size of the solenoid, the solenoid can even be embedded in the toilet itself. So, it’s not only time-saving, money-saving, but also space-saving.

Double Duckbill Valve

The new Double Duckbill Valve has an upgraded check valve design. Thanks to this engineering improvement it has a better performance in case of syphoning risk. It also better prevents the unpleasant smells.

The new Double Duckbill Valve facilitates the flexibility to a multiple type of installation (vertical elbow, trimming straight fittings) offering a cost saving to the boat builder in terms of production improvement and less installation restrictions.

To remain acquainted with the latest onboard installations and market developments, Thetford Marine is continuously testing, reviewing and investigating their products. This results in the strong position of the macerator sanitation brand Tecma. The improvement of the Solenoid and Double Duckbill Valve is another proof of this.

Previously in 2014 Tecma introduced the new soft close technology, based upon the Sugatzune damper technology to reduce the noise, prevent potential damage to the toilet seat, and offering home-like comfort. It uses high-quality components such as polished stainless steel 316L fittings and durable plastic bushings for long life.

The Multiframe control panel is another example of product improvements. It has a flexible bezel design which is compatible with many brands, has a slim control panel housing and is easier to service thanks to the split controller. The new Multiframe control panel free up the architects and designers from any restrictions due space and to bezel brand, model and dimension, and that’s an added value for the boat builders, the dealers and for the end users.
